Malaysia Visa Guide

What will it actually cost?

Pick a programme and your family size. Every figure is the official one from that programme's guide — and the money you get back (a fixed deposit) is kept well apart from the money you don't.

1. Choose a programme
2. How many dependants?
0
plus you, the main applicant
3. Which passport do you hold?

The multiple-entry visa fee and the main applicant's security bond are set by passport, not by programme — the bond alone ranges from RM200 to RM2,000. The schedules' own defaults for a country they do not name.

Fees — money you don't get back

  • Participation fee — main applicantRM200,000
  • Immigration pass fee — main applicant (5 years)RM10,000

RM2,000 per person per year, collected for the whole approved term when the visa is issued and again on renewal. A five-year approval means RM10,000 per person up front, not RM2,000.

  • Multiple-entry visa fee — main applicantRM100

The multiple-entry visa fee, set by your nationality rather than by the programme. Small next to everything else here, but it is a real line on the invoice. Other / not listed: RM20 a year.

  • Security bond — main applicantRM1,500

One-off. The main applicant's bond is set by nationality and ranges from RM200 to RM2,000; each dependant is a flat RM10. Set by nationality — Other / not listed: RM1,500.

Total feesRM211,600

Capital — refundable, or an asset you own

This is not a cost. A fixed deposit stays your money; property becomes your asset. You need it ready, but you don't spend it.

  • Fixed depositRM1,000,000

Up to 50% may be withdrawn after six months in the programme — reduced from one year under the 2026 terms.

Total capital committedRM1,000,000

Ringgit and US-dollar figures are shown separately and never added together — the exchange rate you get is itself part of the real cost. MM2H is denominated in USD; PVIP and S-MM2H in ringgit.

What this leaves out: agent fees (not set by the government on this programme, and never published — get them in writing before committing), renewal fees beyond the first term, insurance, and living costs. Every figure shown is drawn from the official source cited on the Premium Visa Programme (PVIP) guide.

Priced over a 5-year initial approval. The pass and visa fees are charged per person for every year of the term, collected up front and again at each renewal. Your approval is capped by your passport's remaining validity, so it may run shorter or longer — scale the pass fee accordingly.

Visa fee and security bond figures come from MYPVIP, from the Immigration Department fee schedules, as at 28 July 2026. The schedules are not published at a government URL, so they carry that attribution rather than a link.
